The Burlap Bag team does every step of the candle-making process themselves, from putting wicks in the candles to designing the labels. The candles are made in super small batches to ensure quality. 

Burn time

Each candle has a burn time of 70+ hours and is in a 9oz jar. Their shelf life is 2+ years. They are 100% vegan and cruelty-free!

Wax

The soy used is made of pure 100% natural soybeans. It's made in the US, is biodegradable, and free of pesticides/herbicides.

Smells

The fragrances are also made in the US and are phthalate free. The wick is lead free.

Scents

Hippie scent -this candle smells just like incense - without the smoke! A little patchouli, sandalwood, citrus, and lavender.

Grandpa - this scent will remind you of your pops, grandpa, pawpaw, gpa, whatever you call him. It has a great "guy" scent -- just like men's aftershave!

Gimme Coffee - going thru caffeine withdrawals every evening? This candle will make your home smell like an espresso with a tad bit of sugar and cream - it might actually make you want more coffee though, it smells so good. 

King of Farts - perfect for that smelly person in your life who maybe needs a subtle hint (or a laugh!). This has an amazing scent that's a mixture of tobacco and wood notes. 

La La Land - a scent of warm vanilla, oak, and cedar. A customer favorite! It'll make you daze off and day dream.

Mermaid Magic - mystical, magical mermaids - this candle is scented like sea salt and driftwood. It's a perfect beachy smell for all those ocean dreams of being a mermaid. 

Sleepy Squad - full of your favorite sleepy friends, cats and dogs, babies, etc. This has a lavender sage scent - perfect for some sleepy moods. 

Bee's Knees - an amazing mix of oatmeal and honey.

Best Smell Ever - they should rename this Crack Candle. All of our customers love it and are addicted. You also need it. Trust us. It smells like satsuma & tropical fruits & goodness.

You're a Wizard - unleash all your magical ways with this candle. It smells just like butter beer! Perfect for settling down with your favorite book. 

Unicorn Puke - smells just like cotton candy, of course! Everyone knows unicorns are made of rainbows and sunshine and sugar.

Clean freak -  This candle will smell so good that you’ll hopefully be constantly reminded to keep you and your home CLEAN! It's one of our favourite smells - rosemary and fig! 

Cuddles - this scent will make you wanna light a fire and cuddle with someone you like. Or a cat. Or both. The scent is a nice mixture of amber, sandalwood, musk, and vanilla.  

Crazy cat lady - a great scent for anyone just nuts about cats. Seriously, all cat people love this scent. And all non-cat people too, it's just a really great scent. No, it doesn't smell like litter or fur. It smells like yuzu (japanese citrus). 

Expert Dog Petter - This scent is a great mix of cherry and almond - it’s seriously one of our new all-time favourite scents!

Plant Person - Scents of green vines, leaves, tomatoes, and basil make this amazing plant smell! No green thumb required.

Bossy Pants - This candle is an amazing combo of citrus, coconut, and cardamom. It's strong and sweet and a tad spicy -- like all bosses should be! Get this for your: bossy older sister, your awesome boss, your favorite boss babe, or your own bad boss self.

Spoonful of Cereal - Spoonful of Cereal is the scent of your favorite fruity kid breakfast cereals. Like actually though!

Night Owl - This smells like a cozy night on the couch. Pomegranate mixed with orange, vanilla, and cinnamon. Go to sleep, you night owl!
